Recognition of prior learning (RPL)
Recognition of Prior Learning, also referred to as RPL, is the formal acknowledgement of a person’s current skills and knowledge no matter how, when or where the learning occurred.
This is an important assessment pathway, particularly for people who are considering doing study. This is an assessment process in itself, whilst you may feel you have the relevant skills and knowledge to apply for RPL you must be able to provide the evidence required to meet the requirements of the assessment process.
The RPL assessment may include copies of prior qualifications/courses, workplace observation, interviews and professional conversations, work samples and documented evidence.

Credit transfer (CT)
Credit Transfer, also referred to as CT, recognises previously completed Units of Competency either of the exact Unit of Competency or it’s predecessor (if equivalent). It uses an assessment of a previous course or subject that an applicant has achieved to determine whether it can be credited to the new course in which the applicant wishes to enrol.
The assessment determines the extent to which your previous course or subject is equivalent to the required learning outcomes of the desired qualification.
