Founder

With a career spanning over 17 years in the weight management industry, Sonja has helped thousands of people to successfully regain their health and vitality using a multi-faceted and holistic approach to health and weight management.

Her passion for helping others is ultimately what led her to starting the Australian College of Weight Management & Allied Health and developing the nationally and internationally accredited 10698NAT Diploma of Weight Management and 10576NAT/10859NAT Certificate IV in Weight Management as she recognised the need for a platform within the industry which would teach, promote and encourage cross-pollination and collaboration of the many disciplines that make up the weight management industry.

Sonja strongly believes that in order to make an impact on world health and obesity, both academia and the different disciplines across multiple industries need to work together instead of operating in ‘stand-alone silos’ as is currently the case.

Our core commitment at the Australian College of  Weight Management & Allied Health is to continue to build on this foundation and, through collaborating with a vast network of experts to deliver courses (and through membership with our sister company Global Weight Management Federation), unite industries for the betterment of health outcomes, weight management and obesity prevention.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”5712″ img_size=”300 x 300″ alignment=”center” css=”.vc_custom_1494995015223{margin-top: 50px !important;}”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row 0=””][vc_column][vc_separator color=”custom” accent_color=”#2aaae1″][vc_column_text]

I had also completed a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment particularly to train and assess First Aid. Health and wellbeing has always been a passion of mine and was the start of my fascination with the complexity of human body systems and how they adapt to situations. I pursued my Bachelor in Dental Surgery soon after year 12 and practiced as a dental surgeon. I advocate for the basic rights of our elders currently receiving aged care, disability and allied health services leading to my appointment to a board position as a non-executive director for a leading multicultural NFP organisation. I have worked in training and assessment for the past 8 years and am currently pursuing my master’s in vocational education and training.
